Cruises

Cruises come in different shapes and sizes. You have the well known ocean cruise ships that are basically a floating city. You have the midsize ocean cruise ships that are capable of reaching places the large ones cannot. Lastly, you have the small river ships for more inland traversal.

Mega-ships

Brands like Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian. These carry thousands of passengers and offer lots of entertainment, dining, and amenities.

Mid-sized ocean liners

Smaller than mega-ships but still with lots of options, often a balance of activities and relaxation. This would be Celebrity, Holland America, and Princess to name a few.

River ships

Much smaller, usually under 200 passengers, sailing rivers like the Danube or Rhine with an intimate, destination-focused experience. Brands like Viking River and AmaWaterways.

Expedition / Small luxury ships

These are specialized for adventure and unique destinations (Antarctica, Galápagos, Arctic). Some are ultra-luxury yachts carrying under 200 guests.
